Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles finally gets a release date!

Finally its on its way!

Its about bloody time and all. This was supposed to be out last November on DVD, but harmony gold wanted to release it via broatcasting and television airings as well (can't blame them on that business end of things) but in trying to find a distributor and various other delays. Have held up Robotech's comeback revival pliot and eventual series from being seen. Well it now looks like there's been some very recent developments on that angle (trust me i too have been waiting to hear news on this thing, for a long long time!) cos now the Shadow Chronicles has a release in november of this year fingers crossed!


Looks like this year's November is going to be quite the celebration in terms of DVD releases.

1) Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles

2) Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut

3) Superman Returns

4) X-Men 3: The Last Stand (I'm getting it mainly for the extras)

5) Thundercats Season 2, Vol 2 DVD boxset

Not bad at all!

With that and Casino Royal, The Fountain, Happy Feet, Apocalypto, Eragon and Pan's Labyrinth all playing in cinemas around before and after that time period and all. This Christmas season just might shine out to be thee best month in terms of pure entertainment in and out of the house!

Apart from Spider-Man 3 and Transformers next year and other films under the radar. You know what else we'd all like to see being "adapted" as a major motion picture movie ('wink wink' ) in the form of a continuation (cough "BG" cough).

For now this'll do though! Been waiting a loooooong time for Robotech to come back. Perhaps one day i'll cross off BG when its greenlighted as a movie, for now though, another classic is coming back and i couldn't be happier.

Hey thanks for posting this KJ. As you said, it's about @$!&# time! First heard about this 2 Cons ago in 2005! It's good to hear it's finally going to be released. I too am a fan of Robotech and would love to see it make a return.

Sure thing man, look on the official site for updates and keep an eye out for Robotech news events to turn up at local conventions where a peek at the upcoming Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles series can be seen in all its glory. Of course with news of the voiceover actors also appearing at shows to do signings and talk about Robotech's current revival.

I have been waiting a long time for this. I recently heard though that it was being pushed back again? I hope that is not the case. Must go loging to robotech.com and see whats up. Although.. I'm thinking about driving to Chicago to see it

This was supposed to be out in late 2005 as it was announced. Then came news that it wasn't finished yet. Then it was all done in Feb of 2006 this year and got rave reviews at the Cannes film festival and whatnot. Its been on show at the korean film festivals and shown around several film cons probably to get investers still, and Harmony Gold's got its TV airings lined up.

But delaying the DVD of the first Shadow Chronicles revival of Robotech this long is pretty weak and only shows mismanagement at the highest levels. Now the release for the DVD s set for early 2007. At this rate i suppose that will be held back to late 2007/08 and all too?

Yeah i'm pissed off and for good reason too. And i'm only one of many who is. Quote a particular funny but controversial animated show right now... This is some bullsh*t!

This remind anyone of what sony did with Final Fantasy Advent Children? The release date for that changed at least 6 times before it was released finally.
