Default Richard Hatch sighting

I was flipping the channels on the TV last night and I came across something interesting. it was "battle of the network stars" on Trio. it was from around 76 or 77 because richard was starring in streets of san fansisco. well any way he was on the ABC team. heres a recap of the events that Richard particpated in.

swimming relay

richard didn't have a chance he was too far behind when it was his turn
6 man 800 meter relay.
richard anchored the final leg. he had to run 200 meters, whle the other ran 100. he ran pretty good. their was contrversy, because Ben Murphy of NBC took the baton early and NBC was pentalized, even though murphy won the race. so there was a 100 yard dash between team captins Gabe Kaplan and Robert Conrad. guess who won Kaplan. he smoked Conrad.

obstacal course.
richard beat gary burgoff in a pelimanary race and faced Ben murphy in the finals. he won that hands down.

tug of war

final compitition between cbs and abc
Richard anchored, his teammates included Robert Hegyes(welcome back Kotter he played Juan Epstein, Penny Marshall Hal Lindon and Ron Howard they beat CBS whose team included Telly Savalas,Adrienne Barbeau,Bill Macy,Gary Burghoff, and Pat Harrington.

Richard did good in the contest and won 20,000 dollars for being on the winning team.

I remember watching those specials when they originally aired on ABC. Maren Jensen competed back in '79. Behind the scenes clips of Galactica were shown.
