Deep Impact was very good. Morgan Freeman delivered that quote with graceful eloquence. He made a damn good american President!

Deep Impact sufferes from a VERY slow start. All of Vanessa Redgrave scenes should be cut out of the beginning. About half the scenes should be cut before the astronauts take off from earth. Slice redgrave parts. Slash the student auditorium scene. Slash the astronaut buffet and bar scenes.

I got really tired of the dull scenes, so I read on the net how to put the dvd movie on my hard drive. And I cut the boring scenes out. And BOY does the movie get better! Its now much more tense in front. It has a nervous tension it didnt have before.

If you can get through the dull parts, you will find a film which is much more heartfelt than its Armageddon twin. No overbloated star vehicle. You actually see ordinary people facing extraordinary times. And Morgan Freeman is DAMN good in every scene.

I actually did see it, and wasn't as impressed. MAybe I need to see your edited version. When my sis decided to take me to see Armageddon, I didn't want to go because I argued that I had already seen it. I did go, and then ended up liking it better.
