Okay -

I know that the Galactica insignia was supposed to be of an Indian mandala, but I was watching a documentary on Atlantis this evening. This lead to some online research and I found a site that is based on a theory regarding a possible discovery of Atlantis. On the webpage, I saw this:

They list it an an Indian mandala, but I found it interesting that it was on a site that was centered around Atlantis....

Cool, eh?

Best,
Bryan

My god, this one season series was deep! Sooo... deep in little details. And yet it was also a rushed show to boot.

Fantastic find there people.

After seeing this, I remembered seeing something like it in a textbook of my brother-in-laws on architecture. It seems that the Mandala represents the ancient Indian view of the cosmos (which they then used as an architectural model), which so totally explains its use as a design for the Galactica! Thanks for the great find!!!

You definitely added a gem to that. A mandala that represents an ancient culture's view of the cosmos, with a tie in to it's ancient architecture, plus the obvious triangles make up Egyptian pyramids association to link the 2 ancient cultures. Goodness, Dorleac did some research for those costumes!

I enjoyed reading the science fiction!

There is no gravidic or electromagnetic evidence in the South China Sea geophysical mapping to support the contention of crustal displacement of the magnitude to sink a continent in that area.

Primary evidence for refutation is the Toba Caldera eruption hypothesis. A nice article on the same and the fact that we aren't in an ice age that thew sinking of Atllantis requires is here.

http://weiky.gl.ntu.edu.tw/introduction%20WKY/2004%20first%20Toba%20reply.pdf

Cheers!
