We all communicate our loves and fondness for Battlestar Galactica through the means we know best. Some of us are subtle, some of us are more direct, some of us stammer...but we feel ya' anyway
.
But there is one among us who is more than subtle. One among us who is more than direct. This one does not stammer.
This one is sublime.
I refer to someone whom I have come to regard as a good and dear friend over the short time that I have been associated with any of the Galactica boards.
This person is Muffit.
She has time and again been a source of inspiration to many of us Galactica fans, regardless of where we stood on the fence. Where many would seek to use abstract, or even harsh words to hammer their points home (again, both sides were guilty of this), Muffit uses kind, simple, lucid memories that somehow manage to convey the sense of connection, and perhaps loss when it came to the Classic Battlestar Galactica. (And as far as I am concerned, Classic Galactica is still NOT a lost cause.) She could move grown men to tears with the strength of her heartfelt musings. And rarely (to my memory) would anyone DARE to debate her profundity. I think I may have disagreed with her once....but just once. Otherwise, I could completely relate, because like her, and so many others on these boards, I am also a fan of TOS Galactica.
Muffit is a good, decent, and kind person...truly a child of God. She is someone, who like many on this and other boards, I am honored to call a friend. Even though we've never met face to face, I would call her a friend. She has a wonderful sense of humor, decency, magnanimity, and love.
I think that when it comes to the rag-tag fleet of fans of Classic Galactica, Muffit is indeed the spiritual leader. Her musings are like truly inspired services on a Sunday morning.
I raise my glass of Ambrosa to Muffit. Be sure to check out her collection of musings in the Colonial Library.
With great respect, admiration, and affection to Muffit,
