Well, this time your boys get into the game - they still have to get past the Seahawks for the championship.
And that's likely to take some doing.
Go, 'Hawks!

I'm ultimately for Seattle by default since I root for the team that's never won it all if it's not my team. And while it might have been a long time ago, my memories of the Steel Curtain triumphs run deep so their winning wouldn't be a new experience for me! (They never fade since I have so many games on tape from that era).
In fact, Super Bowl XIII, one of the best ever that saw Pittsburgh beat Dallas 35-31 aired the same night Part 2 of "War Of The Gods" debuted.

Mike Holmgren... Former Packer coach who's been in two Superbowls, winning one of them.
Matt Hasselbeck... Former Packer QB who plays like a young Favre.
Defensive Coordinator Ray Rhodes... former Packers coach and former Packers D.C.
Seattle Seahawks's Super Bowl run.... 30 years in the making. Packers went 30 years without a Super Bowl appearance
Seattle gets there using the Packers offensive scheme.
...yup. Northwest Packers is what they is

Lucky. They got gosh darn REAL lucky in that game. VERY questionable calls against the Seahawks.
Seahawks actually dominated, but came up short in the Ref calls.
Congrats to the Stealers

Just out of curiosity, which calls were questionable?

Men of Steel triumph!
Congratulations BST! And well done Pittsburgh Steelers!
It was not the best game ever. But it was exciting, tense, and you never felt the Steelers had it won until the 2 min warning.
For my money, the Steelers were worthy winners. The Seahawks had the better of the first half, the moved the ball better than the Steelers. But they always hit a brick wall at around the 50-40> yard line. And the two touchdown decisions went against them- Seattle's choped off while Pittsburgh's stood. Both could have been given either way.
But in the second half it was all Pittsburgh. A brilliant 75 yard TD run, and that cute trick move with the running back throwing an astonishing pass that Marino or Montana would have been proud of!
Seattle's only score came from that awful interception when the Steelers had them on the ropes. And I thought Seattle's clock management was shocking.
Pittsburgh well worth it IMHO. And BRG actually got to watch it this year! for the first time in years, my day off fell on the monday after the Super Bowl. So I have been up all night wathing it.

PS- BST, the title of your thread, are you singing Hey Jude? You know "La...la la lalala la! Lalala la! Pitts-Burgh!"

Actually, the only real questionable decisions in my eyes were the 1Q Seattle touchdown choped off for psss interferance- it looked a bit harsh.
And Pittsburgh's 2Q TD dive by Roethlisberger. I honestly felt he was stopped short. Both of these decisions could have gone either way, perhaps it would have been just if the both had been given a TD, or both ruled out.
But still, you can't say Seattle would have won the game based on these decisions. And Seattle commited a criminal amount of stupid fouls which ruined nearly all of they're big plays into the off red-zone. You can't blame the refs or the Steelers for those!
And have you ever seen such poor use of the clock on offence as Seattle? I suggest they watch a few tapes of John Elway and the Denver Broncos from the 80's & 90's.

BRG,
I actually incorporated parts of the "la la la la, Hey, Hey, Hey, Good Bye" song along with our 'old' favorite, "Here we go, Steelers, here we go, Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl". (That one goes back to the '70's.)
I agree about this game not being one for the all-time highlight film. The thing that, initially, concerned me was that the Steelers were way too tense, in the first quarter and halfway through the second. They forgot to "dance with what brung them". I think Cowher's half-time speech to them was to just simply settle down, do the things that you know how to do, don't forget the fundamentals, and it will all fall into place.
When all is said and done, the Super Bowl is really no different than any other game except that more people are watching.

I was concerned about the Roethlisberger TD, too. When they showed the replay, I focused on the ball and the edge of the goal line, as he was going down, the nose of the ball seemed to cross the plane of the goal line. (That was before it slipped under his belly and he subsequently extended it across the goal line).
The pass interference? Good call. Unfortunately, you can't have contact between offensive receiver and defender beyond the line of scrimmage, unless both have a legitimate shot at the ball. The call might have actually been better stated as "illegal contact beyond the line of scrimmage" rather than pass interference.
Seattle's time management? At the end of each half, simply atrocious. They're a better team than that and just needed to remain calm. They didn't. As I was listening to John Madden commenting on Seattle's last drive, he was anticipating them trying a field goal once in range and THEN, going for the on-side kick. They burned entirely TOO MUCH of that last 1-1/2 minutes going for a TD and lost that opportunity.

It's called "momentum".
There was also the phantom "holding call" on a called back Seattle TD.
So that's two Seattle TD's and one Pitt TD that were questionable.
If Seattle has those two and Pitt does not have theirs, the momentum of the entire game is different.
