FYI, I placed a zipped file of the uncompressed image (sans Galactica) about 1200 by 1024 on my website for download. No artifacts here. Might be more suitable for what you have in mind.

Back in the 1980's I did scads of art for fan mags... mostly from Clean Slate Press.
I can see if I can dig up any of it. If all else fails, I'll be happy to do some new cartoons for you!
