Default The Manchurian Candidate-slow but good!

I saw Manchurian Candidate over the weekend. I never saw the original one. And I had no idea what it would be about.

Denzel Washington is superb. He isn't a hero, but a man trapped by forces bigger than him into this game. Also good is Liev Schreiber as the new vice presidential candidate.

The plot though is incredibly slow at first. It takes waaaay too long. So there will be a boredom factor especially for those that are impatient for something to happen. But if you can bear with a great looong dull spot, the ending of the movie is VERY good.

Exceptional performances!

I give it a...rental vote.

But I did like it.

Thomas the original is available on a special edition DVD. It starred the legendary Frank Sinatra as Marco and Angela Lansbury of Murder She Wrote fame.

That's what I heard! The awesome legendary Frank Sinatra.

I remember seeing a Tina Sinatra as I think as ... producer? There is a story, that after JFK was assassinated, that Mr Sinatra felt the original movie should not be shown again for several decades. This is afterall a story about trying to take over the White House and plotting assassinations. So he bought the film and kept it locked in his vault. After seeing this, I can understand how he may feel about that.

Don't know if that is true though. But its an interesting story.
