Default My take on a battlestar

Hi all,
I've had this basic idea for a long time, a battlestar with 3 engines.
I wanted this to be in my first attempt at making an animation, it never
happened. I'm not taking all the credit for this, I started tinkering with David Kerins model a few years back. this is about the third go at this, the mesh got mangled a couple of times and had to start again.

It's getting a little big (for my pc) on the poly count (almost 2.5mil) and
have been looking at building another PC with more grunt to finish it
and start rendering scenes.

lots of bits and pieces to do to it yet, rearrange launch tubes, detail on the nose, add more turrets.

cheers.

I like this configuration a lot. It seems like a really believable Battlestar variant model.

Thanks punisher,

I wanted to do something a little different, but not so different where it
doesn't fit in with the existing BSG.

other credits go to a book I've got "strike" which has detailed diagrams and
explanations of on deck movements of aircraft carriers. that gave me the
idea of the front section of the outriggers being open as well so their could
be simultaneous launch of shuttles, larger fighters and landing of fighters/vipers.

Also that diagram that Taranis drew up of the outriggers and a website that
used to be on geocities explaining how there could've been 20 odd
battlestars at cimtar and how much you could fit in the launch bay got me
thinking.

cheers.
