Default BSG (TOS) Blooper reel.

I just found this, and figure there are many that may not have seen it.

Go to http://battlestarfanclub.com/battlestar/bgvideo.htm
and scoll down to the bottom of the first page.

D'oh!!! Thanks for reminding me! I have that on disc. I'll need to put it up on BG.co, too.

I have a couple of questions about the blooper reel :

The song We Gotta Find Earth, sounds like it might have been cut in from a TV show onto the blooper reel ? If so, what TV show and is it possible to see it anywhere ?

And second, why on earth ( a phrase only appropriate to Galactica 1980 I know, but let's not get distracted !) wasn't it on the DVD boxset ???

It would be really cool to see and hear the whole We Gotta Find Earth song....

Take another look at the site. I think it says Hatch, Benedict, and Jefferson are singing that song for this blooper reel.

I looked and didn't see that, and if you listen it doesn't sound like it ? It sounds like it was for a TV show - you can hear the studio audience ?

I'm not going to start a serious quest for it, it just sounds interesting !!!!!

No, really, it is right there:

The video below is from the long lost Battlestar Galactica Blooper tape from 1979. The video is about 7 1/2 minutes long and features various bloopers with the cast and the "We Gotta Find Earth" song, sung by Dirk Benedict, Richard Hatch, and Lorne Greene. The video is a bit silly and has a goofy narration, but some of the bloopers are pretty funny. Also, be warned, there is some strong language so keep the hands over the little ones ears.
My mistaken memory substituted Jefferson for Greene.

No, really it's not right there It says who sang it, but not the source. Listening to it, the source sounds live, and from elsewhere....

Ok, you have lost me there.
Maybe some old time BSG historian can chime in an explain it.

I tend toward the premise that it was qucikly done for the blooper reel.

Thats been around for years. I downloaded that when i first started looking for Battlestar Galactica websites online.

Why fanclub hasn't used some software to clean up the picture quality of the copy of the rare blooper. I don't know. Sure is a nice Galactica gem for fans to download and own though.

Ernie I immediately recognized the voices as those listed without even reading who it was that was singing, and my sense of the performance was a kind of wrap party scene for the staff and actors of BSG. I got the impression that the blooper reel and song were created for that occasion and not for the fans, the song sung live in front of the assemble staff and the rest of the actors and recorded that way hence the sound of an audience, the whole thing has a personal kind of look and feel to it. Just my female feeling on the situation.
