I thought you guys would be interested in the following.
When I interviewed David Eick about the CFF continuation effort, this is what he had to say & this is my reply:
BG2003: I’m sure you’ve heard of the efforts by some fans to bring back BSG as a continuation movie on the big screen.
DE: I have not, no. Is that in the works?
BG2003: I think because of the interest now in the Galactica mini and the upcoming series, some of TOS fans want Glen Larson to produce the movie. He owns the movie rights to Galactica. Given that, do you feel there’s room for two Galacticas?
DE: Hey, more power to Glen if he can do it. I’m always skeptical about the ability to take television series and make them into movies. In fact, Shaun Cassidy and I often discuss, and have been discussing for almost eight years, the viability of an American Gothic feature. It wasn’t quite great enough to get anyone into doing a movie. And yet, at the same time if you look at what Josh Whedon is pulling off with Firefly, maybe it’s a new age and studios will try that kind of thing. So I suppose anything is possible. But no, I haven’t heard anything about it.
BG2003: Let me give you the Web address to the continuation effort, OK? It’s
www.colonialfanforce.org
DE: Thanks, I’ll check it out.
The full interview is up at galactica2003.
