I've gone through many theories with my wife, who also watches the show, then we bought the DVD (first season) and the extras are kind of lame and spoil some things. Especially about the writing. But in the end, we're happy with where the show is going, and look forward to every episode. ^.^ It's our TV night.
I believe that "Lost" will turn out to be more sci-fi than mainstream drama as the episodes reveal more and more about the island. There are many good theorys about the show here (be warned WITH SPOILERS)... http://forums.go.com/abc/oceanic/thread?threadID=859408
I sat down with my wife and watched the whole first season of lost, then most of the second season to bring me up to date but I haven't seen the last 4 or 5 episodes because the last 2 that I seen, I found predictable and boring and the first season was anything but, so the show lost this viewer . pardon the pun.
With that said, I have a friend who is taping them so eventually I will watch the rest of season 2.
