And I spent all day cooking basil chicken - and nobody wants it. Shoot, they never notice what I do, just what I don't do. That happen to any of you?

That sounds interesting - basil chicken?
I know a garlic chicken recipe we really like - leaves the skin really crispy and the meat moist and flavorful. Only takes 2 hours in a 400 degree oven.........
I think we'll have that next weekend.........
Tonight we splurged - Subway sandwiches!!!!!! Don't we know how to live?

I've never been in this thread.....until today! I was afraid that "cooking" was a metaphor for somthing I didn't need (or want) to know....!
I was a bit gobsmacked to find out it really is about cooking! I'll be happy to join in!
What did I have for dinner?
Meat Loaf cooked with Tomato Sauce on top w/Beef Gravy
Green Beans with olive oil and a bit of garlic & minced onion
Quartered Boiled Baby Red Potatoes with butter....
It was very tasty!
I love to cook - I'm no chef, but Julia Child (god rest her soul) and Martha Stewart are two of my favorite ladies to keep me company in the kitchen!
Happy cooking (and eating!)
Bryan

yup. this was a common occurance with my youngest brother, especially since he wanted take out all the time. Hardly ever ate a home cooked meal that I made. Oh, he would eat whatever mom made but not me. He once said that he thought I was trying to poison him. That really hurt me.
As for dinner tonight it is going to be a pork roast and sliced fried potatoes with biscuts.

Me too. The grease tastes much better without spoiling it by adding food to it.

Think of canned speghetti in tomato sauce. Except the speghetti-type stuff is shaped like little letters.
John Kerry would like it, after all, it's a Heinz product.

haven't decided yet. Might just dethaw some ham steaks!
For those who requested my Pizza Dogs recipie, sorry I missed that post as I just found it after bactracking I will post it here!
Pizza Dogs
1 jar pizza sauce
hot dogs (your choice)
Hot dog buns
shreadded mozzerella cheese
Turn on broiler. Open buns so they lay flat on cookie sheet or broiler pan. Slice hot dogs in half and lay on the buns. Spoon pizza sauce over hot dogs. Top with mozzerella cheese. place in oven and cook till cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and place on plate.
Important!
Do not bake these, the oven dry out the hot dog buns. Broiler only!
