Default Cool cutaway art!

WEver wonder how they make those amazing drawings where they have this big old mechanical thing and they cutaway a chunk and show every little detail?

Well..this is a really cool site that shows a sample of how they did it!

I was very impressed.

Thumbs up

That's is so cool, alway wondered how people did it and now I know I would be great to see the BSG in a cutaway drawing.

That was indeed quite interesting to see! Of course, using a CAD program seems to have simplified the process somewhat. I wonder how it was done - say back in 1979 when Andrew Probert did his cutaway poster of the redesigned U.S.S Enterprise when Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released?

There weren't any blueprints - least of all, deck-by-deck, nor a CAD program to help out with the perspective and vectoring. I always marveled at that poster of the Enterprise - for the first time, I was able to look at the whole ship, inside and out, with all the details.

It would be incredible if an artist decided to do a cutaway poster of our beloved Battlestar Galactica, where you could see all of the decks and in color to boot!

Later,
Bryan
