Major progress...
*first two thumbs*

..first things first, I got the poly count down around 312K so I can finally work with it in modeler without lagging and freezing.. as a result I have both a lighting rig and a texture set that actually look halfway decent, and as a test I've even dropped it into a scene file complete with planet and nebula

*last 5 thumbs*

I know it doesn't look all that different than how it appeared in my first post, but the real accomplishment here is that I chopped off almost 200,000 polygons off of the original count! Which means I can actually work with it now in scene files and in modeler, which makes progress possible...

Thanks, I was a little torn on the last image myself.. mainly because it took 27 minutes to render

Probably all those volumetrics, combined with the transparency in the nebula, and the glow radius was turned all the way up too

With just Pegasus sitting in the scene it only takes about 5 minutes (that's without the volumetric lights for the engines), which is a huge improvement over the hour or so that it took when it was around 500K

I guess I just assumed that they'd be too big for the manage attachments utility.. in retrospect though I should probably have just posted thumbnails with links to the larger images

From now on I'll stick to the on-site upload feature...

If you do have a problem with size, lemme know. I can change it.
