Default Epic Galactica Concept sketches

Y'know my huge tirade about my own take on a "reimagined" Galactica?

Y'know the "reimagined" sketch I have over in the finished works?

Umm...

I also have concept sketches for the Battlestars Prometheus (2), Altantica, Pacifica, Solaria, Triton, Ballerophon, and several of the evil Valkyrie.

Let me know if you want to see more. Thanks for your attention.

Norsehound -

It's nice to see someone do sketches of their concepts for a change. I mean, CGI is very cool and all, but I've always been more comfortable with freehand drawing and sketching myself.

Nice work - show us more!

It was asked for more. So I present more:

Origionally the top one was supposed to be the Atlantica- before I knew the Atlantica was the President's Battlestar. THAT ship I have drawn elsewhere...

The Solaria was supposed to be the most massive Battlestar ever constructed... and the most advanced (it is Sagittarian). It, along with it's home colony's defenses, would wreak three base stars and hurt a mobile before it was destroyed (at least in my concepts). My scanner doesn't reveal the intricate detailing on the Solaria's nose... I appologize for this.

I also overlayed what I thought the patches would look like for these Battlestars (Based off of information I gathered from the Battlestar Galactica SFB & friends site).

Enjoy. More on request.

Dilbertman: Feel free to use these concept sketches as inspiration, as long as I get credit. Prease, do not pull a Moore. And thanks for showing some interest, everyone!

You will get credit, but I would think you will not see anything until spring/summer. BTW, in the first sketch you show the TOS/TNS G & P very small. Are your new designs that much bigger? AKA Super Battlestars?

They aren't 'super battlestars'- they're my definition of a Battlestar.

It's more like a continent in space for each colony. True, it takes an unbeleiveable amount of resources to chrurn one out (that's why there are 12), but the point I wanted to make was that a Battlestar was a B A T T L E S T A R - not some space carrier with another name. This thing has to be intimidating!

To me the name just sounded....epic. I liked the idea of a huge ancient starship kicking ass across the universe. That's why I made them huge, because like the heroes that command them, they're larger than life. They're important.

And loosing four in the ambush at Cimtar / Battle over Sagittarius makes the cylons much more intimidating.

[Edit: Of couse, I should point out that these are concept sketches, and nothing 'final', should I choose to go through with my once-intended idea of making a comic series before the events of SoaSW)
