Absolutely
Belloby is right. Totally ignore this piece of junk!!!! I was out at a restaurant when this abomination started and I'm glad to say that my dinner has stayed down because I am NOT watching this travesty!!!!
Did you see the last couple minutes of the first half of the Rams game? Aeneas Williams picked off two passes and the Rams scored twice in about one minute!!!
And you can bet your bottom that I will NOT be watching tomorrow either!

I’m sorry but I have to laugh the objective of all of this was to gain control of the property from Glen. He sat back and said next to nothing , allowing things to progress. Then when with the final production in the can, he walks in and takes Universal to arbitration and wins. The old fox has done it again. This whole exercise is for nothing. he gets paid and maintains a level of control Universal was trying to take from him. Millions wasted, an opportunity lost.
What ever the ratings, a series is in doubt now.

Because we are a faithful audience, but a small audience, according to Moore.

I want the original BSG back! What was aired tonight & will be aired tomorrow night is not BSG!
I taped it tonight & will tape tomorrow night also. Mainly because during the first run of it tonight I missed over half of it due to work & it will be the same way tomorrow night. I have a good mind right now to burn the tape.
What were they thinking?! Killing the baby?! Starbuck & Boomer female?! Already seen outside of at least 1 or 2 ships that where used in Babylon 5. Talk about ripping off another sci fi show. They used footage or props that they could from other shows that they could & hoped we would over look it. I think not!

Welcome to the fleets, Holodoc! I think you'll find some fellow Callisto crewmates about this place from time to time.

Oh yeah that makes opening the door for future programming to follow suit A O FRIGGIN K huh? No matter how you slice it , this was an immoral piece of trash and insulted the TRUE fans of the original. This was a trashy soft core porn, that is all there is to it!

The old battlestar....
The old Battlestar compared to the New is just plain style and focus.......BattleStar TOS was more stylisitic and epic...complete with orchestra and trumpets......
This New one has little background music.....and mostly what sound like Japanese war drums......The war and pain is upclose and personal.....it is just wild......
I still love the original.....but this one has just won me over...on everything l like in SF....

Spectre: trust me. You don't want to know what *I* think of the baby killing scene. How was it merciful to the mother to live the last hours of her life in grief? that's just rhetorical so you can see why Trevor is upset: once you open any cultural Pandora's box there is no shutting it and it spreads across broadcast TV and dulls our cultural moral sensitivity.
Trevor, calm down. by 11pm tomorrow this will all be over. Use the anger energy to write Bob Wright at NBC, just let Spectre's comment go.

I like it for what it is as well. Old stodgy fans who want to do NOTHING but b|tch and complain about it add NOTHING to the conversation.

Spectre:
I've looked over your posts and I think you would find the folks at subspacebbs less "old fogie" to you. www.subspacebbs.com
It's run by Dennis Bailey, who looked forward to this mini. (If his opinion of it has soured, SciFi has definitely wasted millions of dollars). Anyway, check it out, see if you like that group more, there are good folks there.
And fyi, its Kobol. And Kobal died 7,000 yahren ago if I recall, that's why there are 12 colonies.

Should of stayed awake...
The last 30 mins was the most dramatic and gut wrenching part....
Boomer and her fellow pilot had to choose who was going in the Raptor gunship......aside from the kids.....this is while the mushroom clouds started to fill the sky.....the vision was devastatingly dramatic...I was totally glued to the set.....

Have a bit of consideration, please. We would appreciate leaving out the personal remarks. Talk about the show, not the other members.

i survived
the story line was slow and full of deadtime, other than that, i didnt mind it "on its own merits"
and i love the fact that the "uppity tour administator" is demeaning the "antiquated equipment, phones with cords on it, computers that barely deserve the name" yet it is this antiquated technology/equipment of the Galactica thats not impotent against the cylons.
the new super-dooper vipers, dead, its the old Mark II Vipers
to the rescue.
best quote: from adama, "we're in the middle of a war, and you're taking orders from a school teacher!?!"
worthy quote: from starbuck and another guy,
starbuck. "why cant we launch from starboard bay??"
other guy "its a gift shop now"

I went to bed after a hr.. It was depressing to watch, no soul, BSG in name only, it was like watching something on earth, no sci-fi feel, like watching something in flatland that was 2D not 3D. The FX were great, I just wish they were lighter so we could see all the work that was put into them. Depressing just depressing

Took EJL's advice:
didn't watch it. Probably won't in the future. I've read the script and watched the LETdown. (or maybe they were right in callin it the lowdown because the sets and costumes sure looked cheap, definitley lacked class.) Disappointments galore. I can find no reason to put myself through it. Waste of time. I know what I want and it's NOT this mini. Change for change's sake is not a good thing. There has to be a reason for that change and I fail to see it with this show, other than Ron wanted to make his mark in the world. Where are the Star Trek producers when you need them? Someone needs to set him some guidelines and limitations instead of turning him loose out there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Ron should have taken a run through Galactica 1980 and realized that you need the original idea and characters to make this work! Add to it, yes, but don't mess with the formula!
Just my opinion.
Carolyn
