Default Radio Galactica Is Back On The Air

Well I haven’t been around much in the last year or so do to musical projects that I was spending every moment that I had on. Well the one that I was spending the most time on is now finished so now I can say that I’m officially back in the game with 2 feet planted firmly in the Galactica Fandom.

The first thing I’m going to do is put Radio Galactica Back on the air and the Following is a play list for many hours of air play. I will try to leave it running as much as possible and I will try to change the play list every month or so.

New to Radio Galactica, are some audio plays that are done by (Alien Voices) the main two in this troop are Leonard Nemoy and John Delancy (I don’t have a clue how to spell his last name) with many other Trek actors.

If you have any requests or any Ideas pertaining to Radio Galactica or if you just want to say Hi, You can contact me at RadioGalacticacontact@hotmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you because it’s like I have always said, Radio Galactica belongs to the fans of Battlestar Galactica so it’s up to us on how to run it.

Thanks T. Shawn Hardy AKA OWD

I posted this before but some how it got deleted. That's OK because I know it's going to take some time to get things running smooth.

Don if there is anything that I can do to help, just let me know.

Default Getting Information

Everytime I click on the station this is the message I receive and it doesn't play. I am using the AOL media player which worked fine before. Could that be the reason?

Maybe.

I was told that it works fine with real player and of course winamp but if it worked with your player before, it should work again unless Shoutcast has changed their software some how. There is a forum on the Shoutcast site where you can ask questions and they might know.

Default Winamp

My player is powered by winamp. I have a feeling Shoutcast changed over to something other than JPEG which AOL can't play. FRACK!!!

OWD, is there anyway of extending Radio Galactica's coverage?

By this I mean preaching to the unconverted and maybe doing some infomercials on our fight?

Regards,

Peter (thinking big!)

I did register over there finally and am waiting for an answer. More than likely it is AOHELL that will not play the station.

They should give you an answer soon from what I remember. I haven't been on that Forum in a while.

Darrell, I can't remember what you sent me. I have 6 CDs chalked full of stuff for Radio Galactica but I can't remember which ones you sent. Sorry

Default OWD

I checked the info about the AOL Player and it does support Shoutcast receipt/playback MP3. Did you change something on your end?

So just to double check, you are going here

http://www.shoutcast.com/

Then in the box right next to (search for), you are putting in Radio Galactica?

Then is the station coming up and if so, what is the message that you get when you click on the button to hear the station?

I lowered a setting from 32 to 24. It's a sound quality that takes you from AM radio all the way up to CD (128) or better but when it's set real low, most people on dial up can tune in. When it's set too high, most on a dial up connection can not.

Try it now and let me know.
Thanks

I listened to it for a while but since I don't have DSL or cable it's hard to listen to on my old dinosaur 56k.

Are you using AOL? OWD did lower the bit rate because I also had a problem some time ago. Now I can't even get the station.

I contacted AOL and they told me how to disable their player and use another one. The quicktime player works!!!! Spock vs Q is a cool idea.

I'm glad you all like it and I'm sorry that I couldn't have been more of a help.
I have the station up and running more often now then I ever did but there are still things for me to learn about it.

Next month is our 1 year anniversary at Radio Galactica.
Anybody have any Ideas on how to celebrate it with our station?
