Default BSG vs BSG -Civil War ?

Well Hello Friends.

Pers. Note.

I was w/o Sevice for a short spell with a less than 3 month old new modem....
Then ,,,,,, we had the Storms, .... which Knocked out power to soooo many here in Ohio and where me is, Central Ohio...

Also, I had some new meds which IIMHO) totally SAPPED THE CREATIVITY in me.

But I have a new flash of light of an idea. Shared only here with you.

BSG vs BSG Civil War..........

I want to try and make a different look and try some more things and ideas,
--( now that I am gettting them again)-- here is a sneek look at lighting
and shadow efx look am working on...

Just a new project to help me stimulate some creativity...

Regards,

Randal R.

Well, I am going to do this one with the newer ships.

Here is a test shot---- since what I see is not what I see when it is uploaded- I got to
Upload tests with added brightness and contrast just so you can see it on Tube.

IF you are curious......................

" I got no idea what I plan to do, just make it as I go.... no story,,, no plot,,,,
just some looks and hopefully a cool video.

I got three music tracks already picked out.

More to come,,,,

Regards,

I love these tracks I got........ Ohhhhhh !

Spent a whole day just editing and mixing and laying out the main Track.

I usually often will make videos based on the music as in using the track as a guide to create scenes. On this one, I have mixed up and edited and layed out the whole track. So I am creating this video using the track I made as the driving force/inspiration I get from it.

The music inspires me, motivates me.

Thought I would share this update.

Please Watch this in FULLSCREEN.
Big Difference!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1hXOTBvJjo

Note: am considering maybe to not add post to lighten up last scene, in Fullscreen it looks almost as I intended. Also,am putting The Arrival on backburner....

Feedback,tips,Suggestions- Welcome

Regards,

Randal R.

Very cool, Randal.

Now, the title for this suggests a civil war in the Colonies. Are these two battlestars meant to square off against each other? If so, you might want to change the camera angles to make it appear as if they're coming from different directions, just to set up the mood. (Personal opinion only ).

But great looking shots! Lovin' it lovin it!

Thnx Friend...

Well, its a working title- just for mood I suppose. but It is a square off tween
two battlestars and vipers. I got a MK VII I think it is but needs going over
and adding all the lights, efx, cokcpit and any animated textures.

yeah, I am trying to make it look that way, but more of a dance around at first with vipers engaging vipers, then and I got a few ( like a dozen gunmounts) I even created a 4 barrel mount and got 8 of em on here so far.

Still need all emitters and such added. Going to be A LOT of work, but this music has got me going. I am in Love with my OWN Video,,,, Evil Genius l

Update will be shortly.......... very soon...... spent twelve hours so far
on the viper scene that will appear in the next update, its a KILLER Shot IMO.

<Stay Tuned> This is going to Get GOOOD !

Randal R.

Keep at it. Looking forward to more.
When I do lasers for my movies, I have a couple of techniques.

1. I create physical bolts with glow and alpha shell effects (in case I need to Alpha channel the shot). I can attach link these bolts to my moving laser cannons, or cannons on fighters, delink, move, reset and repeat as necessary. I can create a pretty cool rapid fire effect if I have two pairs of lasers attached to my ships.

2. Sometimes I use a tower sky textured, elongated as a beam path, for rapid fire lasers. This comes in handy if I need to reduce the prop count, or animation keyframes...although neither should be a real consideration. The tower also actually saves time in having to keyframe and move a laser bolt from point a to point b if it is over a long distance.

If you saw my Vipers chasing TIE Interceptors video, those were examples of the first technique.

To my knowledge, iClone does not have an "emitter" function for bullets and beams, although that would certainly make life easier in iClone for animating such things.

Actually, emitters are a blessing and also a curse lol

THey ARE great for many things, but figuring them out, to do some of those many things, that's the curse.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX0Lh...ature=youtu.be

I only ask that you watch in fullscreen and pay as you exit the theater...
Tender your appreciation with sharing.

VIDEO NOTES:

As I often do, I will use music tracks as a guide and reference
and put together pieces of the track while doing the video too. On this video,
I completely found several tracks I want to use. Sample and edit pieces and put them together.
Created the Music Track First with room for adjustments and additions. So, I kind of made the mood-ambiences
before I do the clips. ( kinda a big lift )

Am really liking this track and video myself.

Really no plot or story other than 2 Battlestars are going to square off with their Vipers cocked and loaded.
Much Much more to do. Including More Gunmounts added on both ships. All Emiitters and Weps and ensuing efx.
Breakups. ( even mixed up and created a 4 Barrel Dbl Twin mount for Surface Guns.

PERSONAL NOTE:
Have had a hellof a time past 2 days with issues that were already taken care,
then another , and another,,,, nuff to pull hair.

It aint perfect, and have to correct things that were already corrected , again.
As in when fixing one issue, i had forgot to turn off the smart sample in Sony, so some of the shots look pixelated LR.

Thank You.

I must say, I have a hell of a time with this update.

I Upgraded to C4d R13 from R10 and I keep having cascading errors and failures with the Physical Renderer.

The DOF and Motion BLur and it seems any Emitters, Pyros,Lights,Spots,
and more just cannot seem to be rendered.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMXI84krJ9E
Edited and Updated 9-3-12 Re-renderd -reuploaded
Has A few more clips.

Chasing down problems that should not even be happening at all.
constantly, so, I only have added a few clips for the week.
But am getting much better, but now slower with the uncooperative APP.
I was hoping to have more in first update, but, takes more time to do these shots I plan on making.
Note: Also seems to be a bad upload, pixelated again.

The one shot of 2 vipers in the gas clouds is MAHVELOUS! I love that shot.

Randal R.

Hey Friends and Fellows

For those who like updates.....

Now I have spent a great deal of time on just a few clips.
Am still building scenes and mounting weapons adding All kinds of emitters and lights, and I mean hundreds of em......... <<< HINT

Whether I can pull of a head to head with 2 Battlestars IDK yet.

( had a lot of app/comp problems of late. Real P U Off kind )

Think you might like some of the shots in this segment...

Quick Update.

Been bout a week since last.

First a few words-------

Not much, but I spent appx a day setting up. Then next 3 days
fixing and rebuilding over and over due to conflicts and glitches.

Which in turn was made more difficult by the fact it is taking 12-15 minutes per frame to render even on my NEW PC.

So, the multi explosion clip took over 20 hours for 200 frames to render
after getting it all set -Appx 40+Hrs
Then 3 hours to do 2 more (short-& long)passes to fix the first whole pass.......cloner issue
this clip needed post work because I cant manipulate the cloners
( Lights-Missiles-Shells-Smoke) of incoming. So they stay viewable after
exploding.

Not much more, but man it took a week to make it.(Fulltime)

Update Clip:

See Whole Video to Date: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq1ecGZu79g

It is short- but is it is SOOOoooooo sweeeEEET
Am excited to do more.....
