Oh, my, I had no idea about Randy VanWarmer.
"Just When I Needed You Most" is one of my all time favorite songs ever.

Ron 'Superfly' O'Neall is a suprise(Jan 14). Superfly is one of the coolest films of the early 70's, with an excellent soundtrack from Curtis Mayfield. And O'Neal's character 'Youngblood Priest' is far better than 'Shaft'. Sorry to hear he has passed away.

Other's I'll miss are Paul Winfield(March 7) who appeared in Star Trek and Babylon 5. Babylon 5 star Richard Biggs(May 22) who played station doctor Stephen Franklin. Chris Reeve(Oct 10) The greatest Superman. And of course Marlon Brando(July 1) who is the greatest screen actor of all time IMO.

BRG,

While I enjoyed Winfield's performance as Captain Terrell, in ST II: TWOK, I truly loved his role in the ST:TNG episode mentioned here:

Quote:
Paul Winfield also play the part of Dathan (sp) in one of my favorite Star Trek:TNG episodes -- " Darmok ". He was the other starship commander who transported himself and Picard to the planet surface, to fight the 'creature at El Adril', in the hopes of starting a friendship/rapport with the Federation.

(It was the episode where Dathan spoke by way of metaphors.)

Thank you Braxiss So sad to lose so many wonderful people.

BST, I never knew Dathan was Terrell - that's so cool!! That truly was a GREAT TNG episode! The metaphor language is not so far-fetched either. In truth, every word we speak is a metaphor of something. We've just forgotten.

Darmok was on the top tier of TNG episodes, and one of my favorites. Winfield was brilliant in that episode, as was Patrick Stewart. With two quality actors like that playing off each other it produced a wonderfull episode.

Was shocked to hear about Reggie White passing. He played for my favorite football team, the Packers!
