I was thinking about the back story of Galactica the other day and a funny thought came to me. What if the people of Kobol were brought to that planet long ago by the Gould who would have been the original Lords of Kobol.
They possibly could of been taken from 12 different locations on Earth hence 12 cultures which eventually became the 12 colonies.
This could explain all the Egyptian influence in TOS since this seems to be the Goulds favorite culture.
After they overthrew their Gould masters much time could have passed and thus this era was forgotten. With only the term Lords of Kobol surviving.
Then when they became advanced enough and realized Kobol was doomed they left the planet after finding 12 habitable planets in adjoining solar systems.
But a small group of them remembered that Kobol was not their original home and set out to find it. Unfortunatly for them they never made it but settled many planets along the way including Terra.
Even the Cylons could have had a history with the Gould. The reptilian Cylons could have been Unas. After overthrowing their Gould masters they then could have come accross the technology to build themselves some robotic servants who eventually turned on them.
Somewhere in the Cylon Robtics memory banks they had a record of the appearence of the Gould being human. So that when they 1st ran across humans they had a instant distrust of them. And once problems developed between the two races they decided to exterminate them to be sure they would never be dominated by them. Like they belive their former masters were.
