That's good Bsg1fan that it's stopped over there.
We got enough snow now where we don't have
to worry about draught restrictions however the
fire restrictions will still be in force.

We have the strangest weather. We have only /two/ seasons (or maybe I should say "too" seasons ) -- too hot, and too cold!
We have no Fall. We have no Spring. It stays 40 or below all Winter till about the middle of March, then it goes straight to 84-100 every day (usually 90 or above clear thru till October).
The downside is, to survive it, all year long either your heater is on, or your air conditioner is. And PGE obliges us so nicely by hiking natural gas rates in the winter (what our heater uses) and electricity in the summer (our AC). Nice of them to care. (!@#$%!)
Ah well, at least a few trees enjoy Spring and Fall. We have this beautiful young tree in the side yard that bursts out in gorgeous reds in "Fall" and the most stunning little white puffy bunches of flowers in the Spring. I keep forgetting the name, I've been told so many times but, you know how Alzheimers gets ya after 20. ( ).
Cheers all!
Muffit

Hi all! I'm back, and what a great trip I had, but I am glad it is over! Thank you all for the good wishes while I was gone. You all are the best!!!!!
I went to a class on ADD/ ADHD, and teaching diverse learner types. It was well worth it!
I have seven children in my class alone that are ADHD, and I have found some good ideas to implement in my class to help in the learning process.
Oh well enough about all that! It's just good to be back

Thanks Muffit! It is hard work teaching, I'm the type of person that takes the day home with me. No matter if it is good or bad.
I have taken several classes in special ed, and it has helped so much to understand where some of the children are coming from. The ADHD children I have are really bright. Two of them I am requesting that they be tested for TAG, (talanted and gifted), that program falls under special ed too. What a wide range of areas it covers, from learning problems to gifited!
I'm not that wonderful, just someone who really cares about her kids
Thank you for your kind words muffit, they mean alot to me.

you took the words right out of my mouth Muffit I was reading the posts and got to Ambers where she said "I'm not that wonderful, just someone who really cares about her kids " and I thought but that's exactly what makes you wonderful!
Amber I wish the school system had more teachers like you in it!

Thank you for the kind words Rowan.
I think to be able to make a positive impression on our youth we have to love what we do as educators. It's not all a bed of roses, but I enjoy my job and just try to reach those little minds and build a love for learning in them.

Amber my sister has two with ADHD. My soon to be 18 yr old niece is the more severe case as she also is oppositional/defiant and behavoral problems. My 13 yr old nephew is a mild to moderate case of ADHD with learning problems.
Bless you for working with people like them.
meanwhile....
we had a fiasco at the video store the other night. We were renting a movie and Kev was going to add me to his account while we were there. So the clerk brings up his account and to his shock and my little green monster side, somehow his ex girlfriend's name is on the account. He never put her on the account and I trust him implicitly. So he had her removed and me added. we are still trying to figure this one out! I was not a very happy camper!

Thank you BSGfan, You really have to enjoy what you do especailly When you have children with special needs.
I would have been upset too at the movie store. It would have been a big shock, but I'm glad he took her name off
