Hi - I'm new
Hello everybody. I hope this is the right place to introduce myself. My boyfriend introduced me to Battlestar Galactica earlier this year. I had never seen it but sort of remembered it from my childhood (the name anyway)... When he bought the DVD set I hoped he wouldn't try to make me watch it with him. Well, of course he did and I tried to tell him that I didn't like any space-related shows at all. Since I never cared for Star Wars I thought I wouldn't like BG.
Of course I ended up liking BG and am now disappointed that there aren't more episodes to watch. I wish they would continue the story without making it so different that nobody even recognizes it. I tried to watch the new series but did not care for it.
Michael (my bf) has Battlestar Galactica stuff all over the place. Right now I'm surrounded by Cylons, Vipers, and Warrior figures. He even altered Apollo's outfit to make it fit better. Good grief... LOL (But I have to admit it looks fantastic.)
Take care everybody and have a great day!

Hi.........welcome to Fleets.......
Actually there is one episode not the the boxset. In 1980 the studio realised they had made a mistake cancelling the show, so they commission a series of the Galactica after it had found Earth. Very few of the original cast reprised their roles, it was basically a cheap version mostly set on earth and lasted 10 episodes before also being cancelled.
HOWEVER, there was one episode called 'The Return of Starbuck' which contained several core characters, and made in the style of the original show. It wasn't included on the DVD set. You might like to check it out......

Oh yeah! I've heard some talk about the "cheap" episode that you mentioned, but not the return of Starbuck. Also, Michael has the books and says they are really good. If I want a continuation, I suppose I should read the books (but I'm too lazy...lol)
Thanks for the information and nice to meet you!

Welcome!
Welcome Warrior Chemist! Glad you joined us. This is a pretty friendly place and you should always feel free to chime in!
Read the books! They are a great continuation!
Also, there are some scripts out there of unfilmed episodes. You should ask your boyfriend if he has any of those. Sounds like he might.
Cheers!

Thank You Everybody!
I really appreciate the warm welcome! Thanks! This seems like a fun place. I'd love to see those scripts! I'd love to see them actually produced. I want more episodes! If it bothers me this much, I can imagine how much it would bother the long-time fans!
I'll take a look at the artwork. I love art and my bf is an artist and scratch model builder. There is BSG stuff everywhere at my house (and other artwork too)...
Lots of Star Trek stuff also! LOL!

You guys are great!
Thanks again for welcoming me here. I feel the love! LOL... Last night we fell asleep watching BSG. After all the activity on the forums yesterday, it seemed like the right thing to do. I hope I can contribute something to the site. I don't build models and I just discovered BSG earlier this year! If I were to make anything, since I am a silly person at times, it would be a baby Cylon. Awwwww, wouldn't it be cute?

WarriorChemist,
Not all of us are authors or artists.
For many, this place is our little outpost of humanity where we can connect with our friends. You're already contributing a part of yourself by sharing time with us and it's most appreciated.

Thanks
Thanks for making me feel "useful"!
I still want to make a baby Cylon... maybe a half-human one that resembles Baltar. LOL! But how could Baltar make a baby? Does he ever get out of that spinning, super high in the air chair?
