Default Best 3 designs for a big ship, and 3 for a small ship in the SF world...

IMO, best bigger ships are, TOS Enterprise, TOS Galactica, & TMP Enterprise.
Best smaller ships are, TOS Viper, Millennium Falcon, & Serenity.

Honourable mention to TOS Cylon Raider & X-Wing.

Whaddya think?

Good Idea.

Large Ship
1 TOS Enterprise (it started it all) I include the Refit
2 Battlestar Galactica
3 Imperial Star Destroyer

Small Ship
1 Millennium Falcon, (there is possibly a WC and a Shower)
2 X Wing
3 Colonial Viper

Large ships:
1. The Corellian Corvette (Blockade Runner) Tantive IV...Princess Leia's ship from the first Star Wars.
2. The U.S.S. Cygnus from The Black Hole....such a timeless looking ship, looking as if it would be as at home in a Jules' Verne story as in a futuristic sci-fi.
3. Motion Picture era Klingon battlecruisers...K't'inga class. They look like bulldogs in space, ready to rough it up with the best of 'em.

Small ships:
1. Eagle from Space 1999. Such a functional and realistic looking design.
2. U.S.S. Palomino, from The Black Hole....another very realistic and functional design.
3. The Millennium Falcon. This ship conveys speed and firepower in a junky guise.

Oh Frack! I've been pawing over this for ages. I can't do it! I can't condense it into two groups of three!

Large ships (capital class)

U.S.S Enterprise NCC1701A
Because right from the start, the Enterprise design thought 'outside the box' in so many ways and still looks relevant today.

EAS Agamemnon (Omega Class Destroyer)
Becuase it is a realistic take on the subject.

The Balance Of Judgement. (Systems Comonwealth ship. Siege Perilous Class Destroyer)
Because its such a beautiful design.

Still thinking about the rest.....

Three favourite small ships:

R-Type Class. (all)
Just so many weapons, even captured Bydo technology!

EAS Starfury.
Becuase it's such a good design, even NASA want it!

The Invaders UFO.
Because it and the series were so hugely influential. A timeless classic design.

Honourable mention to our beloved Viper.
