Default 42" Galactica Scratchbuild.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum and wanted to post a link to the Galactica replica I scratchbuilt a couple of years ago. http://www.bdillonreplicasanddisplay...tchbuilds.html

This is a great forum by the way. I'm really glad I stumbled upon it.

Brad.

Brad -

Thanks for showing us your webpage! There are some really great scratchbuilt models there. I've always admired people that had the talent to make models from the ground up. Really terrific!

I love the pics of the "Big G" as some of us call her. It would be great if you had some pics for the ships of the Colonial Fleet that you have trailing behind her in the diorama.

Welcome to Fleets!

Best,
Bryan

Thanks alot for the compliments on my work everyone. I wish I had taken more pics of the Big G and the other ships in the fleet.

I sold the entire diorama to a private collector about a year ago so I am unable to take more pics to post.

I've been thinking about building another G but this time I would build it the same size as the filming model. I build models professionally as well as for myself so It may be hard to find the time needed to dedicate to a "studio scale" Galactica right now but perhaps soon.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

Brad.

Do you mean how many ship models are in the Galactica diorama I built or how many different model kits were "cannibalized" to detail the Galactica model itself?

Brad.

Also. Here is a link to the Colonial Viper I built around the same time as the G. I'm going to replace these pics with new ones since these didn't come out as well as I would have liked and also since I built a new display for the Viper. In the next couple of weeks hopefully.

Thanks alot Trotsky.

The ships form that show are definitely obscure subjects when it comes to model building which is one of the reasons I really wanted to do a model of one of them. I have never seen anyone else do a model of the Malmori warship or any other ship from that movie. I wish I could've found more reference material on it before I built it but there just isn't much to be found. Still. I was pretty pleased with the end result.

Thanks again for the kind compliment.

Brad
