Adama Journals - Teaser Trailer

Hey all...

Put together a teaser trailer to give an idea, and to see what is do-able on a timely basis, of what the Battlestar Galactica: Adama Journals would look like.

For some of the effects I used shots from the Return of Starbuck re-edit since I didn't have time to do all new effects with the old style Vipers, but this is to give an idea of what I'm going for... it is not exact.

Hope you like... and if this comes together, I hope we can all share in continuing story ideas.

That's pretty cool there Dave.

Cool stuff. It'd be neat to see some "older" designs if this is to some kind of prequel. Like some of McQaurrie's designs or some other conceptual stuff that never made it into the show. Maybe even a Colonial Scarab!

Definitely think older designs will come in. Used some of my Return of Starbuck/DeSanto designs just to get this teaser together, but I think this should come down to earlier/alternate designs for spacecraft. The Battlestars and Basestars may remain pretty close to what they were, but fighters certainly leave alot open to the imagination.

Those are great ideas. I've seen the Frazetta designs, but never really looked close at the designs. Those would be great old style Raiders.

I do own the FASA game and the Viper variations are interesting in there too. May have to look at those.

Looks neat David. Reminds me of the Maximum Press comic book story of Battlestar Galactica, the 3 part "Baptism Of Fire" storyline; where Adama remembered serving on the Battlestar Cerberus with Tigh and Cain under Commander Odysseus. They also flew those old 'Two-Engine' Vipers seen in "The Long Patrol".

Will you be making your story to be anything like that in the full trailer slash mini-movie of yours?

You could make one of those Battlestars of yours to have "Cerberus" on its nameplate couldn't you. And also include several Colonial military starfleets with different kinds of Battlestars and their various configurations (Do you still have a CGI model of SteveW's beautiful, Colonial Defender?). And don't forget those innovative designs you've done with your CGI portrait series, it'll be sweet indeed to see your version of the BSG universe from your perspective, at the time when the war between the Cylons and the Colonies was very much ongoing and very active, way before the supposed 'peace treaty' seen in the pilot, that eventually set the series up.

P.S.

If your also going to animate a story with actual characters too, it might be good if you got others onboard to help out. I've always said you've been smart enough to put your own team together. You should hunt down other like-minded CGI artists along with more advanced CGI tools, and make your own movie for REAL.

Done well enough it might create waves and garner enough attention of those that want to put it in shows or whatnot?!

With a more advance, more detailed CGI software, i can see you along with a talented team of fans (Titon included), producing something 'akin' to the Star Wars: Clone Wars CGI animated cartoon series.

I see you have a similar comic collection as mine. Yes, in the opening story at least, the Cerberus and Odysseus are there. Thought it would be nice to tie into that back story.

As for a team... thoughts for a later time.
