Hi BST! Hi Warrior! Greetings Lara, Compass and Kamikaze!
LOL, great comebacks
Yup, this poor California-bred daggit is in for one heckuva culture shock I'll grant ya. Seriously, I /adore/ the food here (gopher notwithstanding). There's a barbeque place on every corner with something they call "pulled pork" (which is to say, fork shredded), and super spicy cajun which has become my fav of favs. Popeye's chicken has totally replaced KFC for me, thank the ducks of Dover for cayenne!!!
The weather is delicious; they have a saying here, "If ya don't like the weather, just wait till tomorrow" -- and wow are they ever right, one day it's 85 and gorgeous, the next day it's 65 and raining, and yet the next it's blustery like crazy. REAL seasons! Snow for Christmas! Real live unabashed squirrels, armadillos, and ruby red cardinals everywhere! And everything green, green, green. And best of all, people so sweet and friendly you'd think they'd known you all their lives.
California? Sheesh Clareesh, yellow dead grass hills and water rationing and beheaded trees and boring ever-the-same weather I miss not. Just to look outside through my office window and see leaves tumbling to earth of every shade of the rainbow, was worth the trip.
Anywho, thansk so much for your kind (and funny) replies dear friends, take care and see ya 'round the galaxy...
Much affection,
Muffit

Hi Muffit! Hope those tornadoes that hit the south were well away from you.
*doesn't really want to know if someone's domesticized gopher so the supply is less "seasonal".*
Vegetarian does sound good after that.
