Diamond Select on Serenity Figures

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles has announced that they have secured a licensing agreement with Universal Studios to produce action figures based on Joss Whedon’s upcoming feature film Serenity.
In a company press release, Diamond said the line will include several of the main characters from the film, which is based on Whedon’s short-lived Fox sci-fi series Firefly. Each figure will be approximately six-inches high and will feature character-specific accessories. Specific figures have not been announced yet.
“When Universal announced its plans to produce the Serenity film, we knew that it would inspire a set of great action figures,” says Diamond Select Toys director Chuck Terceira in the press release. “The series grew in popularity on DVD and the following of fans that Joss Whedon has created is phenomenal.”
Serenity is scheduled for release on September 30th.
