Yeah, but you never get a second chance, to make a first impression.

I've been pondering this question for a while and have reached this conclusion -
the question can not be answered in "absolutes" but, I'll try to fashion an answer of sorts, anyway:
Six is a machine and Cassi is human. While one can argue that we are all machines, i.e., bio-chemical, there is a difference. Six was constructed to appear, as she does, from day one. Cassi's appearance is one that was developed over the course of time.
For 'drop dead good looks', Six would get the nod.
For 'beauty', Cassi would be the choice, hands down.
Another way that I would look at it is that Six would be a 'trophy' while Cassi would be a 'prize'. I'd take Cassi in a quick minute.

I voted for Cassie.......you should have put in Sheba, Athena, and Serina. But I picked Cassie because I think of her as a "natural " beauty vs the actress who plays six maybe "natural" but she doesn't look like it to me. Also, I don't think Six has as pretty a face which is what I tend to look at more then the body. I think Six kind of fits the sterotype of women who are in Hollywood today who all look similar which I think is less interesting then individuality(I know there are some but very few)

I put Cassie against Six because both of them existed primarily to attract teenage boys. This is essentially a "best sex symbol" poll.

In that case, if you're leaving out Athena and Sheba because of how they come off in the femininity department in the first episode they appeared in then in Athena's case you had to ignore (1) the locker room scene where she's only wearing the pressure suit and (2) her Carillon resort scene. And in Sheba's case, a smile at Starbuck following the "You wouldn't want me to throw the mission just to avoid paying the bet" moment only proves that sometimes it isn't just the clothes one is wearing or not wearing at that particular moment to indicate one's sex appeal.
A best sex symbol poll that leaves out the choices of Sheba, Athena and Serina is not a valid poll from my standpoint, and that's why I feel that when it comes to this one, abstinence is the best solution.

Cassie, totally. At the risk of sounding crude, I'd take one night with Cassie over a decade with Six.

Well....the women at the time of Hollywood back in '78 were probably regarded just as much of an unrealistic or unattainable beauty as the women of '04 are now.
With all due respect and droolage to the ladies of the pre-eighties, I must confess I have a thing for Six.
Just my two cubits worth
Respectfully,

Martok,
I am not sure how other women felt at the time of TOS but for me...I was a teenager and looking at the women of TOS I was inspired by their strength and I felt that I could possibly attain the look of Athena, Sheba or Serina(and I was happy there were some darker-haired actresses I also liked Jaclyn Smith and Kate of charlie's angels)).....now, I am not saying I ever did look like that but it did not seem impossible to me. Whereas today there is so much plastic surgery that my daughter will be looking at these images that are unatainable without surgery.................

now let me say that if I were a guy and I had my choice between a real woman like Cassi and a something that looks like it were made in Six's case my choice would have to be hands down for Cassi!!!!!!
Some guys prefer the real deal!

Cassie is what drove me to want to be like Starbuck when I was a kid. In my teens, that drive not only got me a few dates...but also earned me many speeding tickets...a few fights....and some community service. I regret none of it.....but the high insurance rates until I was 25 kinda sucked. Cassie.

Technically, this thread shouldn't be resurrected, but rather we should have a new poll centering on the three (or four if you want to include Rigel. Serina shouldn't be included since she's a guest star character) women of TOS and make your pick accordingly.
And for me it's Sheba in a landslide.

Libernull, I think you should read this:
http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...ad.php?t=12601
This forum only discusses the original series, and not the other show. This thread was started originally at a time when this rule was not in place, hence the poll question that no longer applies to this forum, but you should be aware of this.

Perfectly innocent mistake, Libernull that others have made. We hope that won't keep you from posting here about the original series!

That would be logical. Seeing as how every other discussion of BSG TNS has been discontinued. Even though this poll/thread began before the BSG TNS ban, if the other threads relating to BSG TNS are locked out or removed then this poll shouldn't be here either. Unless, someone has changed their mind about discussion of TNS.
