Currently, it is an avatar of me. I've been working hard to shed some depression pounds and I no longer wish to hide behind a pic of others. I like me alot these days. I had a bad run of luck with the marriage gone south. It broke me that things did not work out and my self esteem was shattered. It is over and my daughter still lives with me. She is happy and I am happy and I am discovering sides of myself I did not know I had. The current avatar is reflective of that. The romantic and the dreamer. The man who lives by a different standard and is...not fearless...but adventurous. Kinda having fun these days.

Excellent words Tux! And many congratulations on discovering the real you, physically, emotionally and mentally.
Your latest real-life avatar is splendid, and nice strong chin, BTW
You're not having Pisces influence in your horoscope by any chance?? the "romantic dreamer" traits ,just scream" the 12th sign"!!! Take it from me...it's a sign that can be hard to fully understand, even to ourselves...but we are nevertheless gentle, sensitive and inspirational people...somewhat chameleons of the zodiac!
P.S. I just discovered you're a Cancerian! Hey..no wonder I recognise your water element...
I think you deserve some victuals... on me..well not on me...but my shout! Actually I don't shout...I'm very quietly spoken in fact... good breeding... okay..except for my last post in "The Last Person" thread, a senton ago...one of those fish traits...we somtimes drink like one
Actually I don't really drink...I'm a water child..love my HO2...
I have no idea why I just told you all that...
Think I need a lie down...Jeeves..fetch me my cool head cloth....

I am a Sagittarius's that means I am half donkey and half mad!!.. as I once read a dreamer star sign constantly shooting arrows into the sky chasing dreams ..
(would make more logic if we shot lower) then tripping over to many legs running after it.... stories of my life ..
the only upside is, "I have a good healthy garden" .. do you like rhubarb???

Hi, "Oh great Thunder God....hmmm a Sagittaran....nice colony...I have a best friend from there.....and I was convinced she too was mostly mad the donkey part well...that was a given
Hmmm Rhubarb... ... My mother has made a delicious Rhubarb cake, pie, and like a dessert topping on ice-cream on occassions...delish!...and they say there's much rhubarb to be found on Mars...that's why they call it the red planet ...okay that was rather a geeky thing to say....
However, traditionally, Astrology says a Sagittarians are represented by the mythical Centaur. Half man and half horse. Often associated with symbolism of man torn between good and evil.
Sagittarius is also a protector, with a great desire for freedom.
I think I've just promoted myself as the fleets' Astrologer....and your forcast for today is.......
Get to know the centuar in YOU!
You'll be delightfully surprised

I've been here a while and I haven't done this. Well by my name I'm AJ Marks, and my avatar is, for the moment, about something I was doing during the month of November. Its where you start November 1 and try and write 50,000 words of a new story in 30 days. I managed to complete the story, Called "Retrun of the Cimalians" which I am now in the process of editing and hoping to one day publish.
My sigs usually represent either a quote from a movie or what's going on at my website.

Yes please!
One of the things that has confounded me about avatars is resizing pics properly (I freely admit I'm a technotard..) so ready mades are cool.
Cheers,
Lara

Lara,
One easy way, albeit a bit 'crude', is by using MS Photo Editor. It will allow you to resize pictures in a variety of measurements -- inches, centimeters, or pixels. The Avatar size, at this point is 120x120 pixels and 20K. Make sure, though, that when saving the picture, you save it as a JPG or GIF file. Don't save as a bitmap file .. that seems to chew up an incredible amount of storage space by comparison.
Hope that helps.
