"Encounter"
I made this composite myself, but I couldn't have done it without the people who frequent the Resin Illuminati forum and Mark Dickson who supplied me the Ship Of Lights picture.

DeSanto vipers!
Sorry. Every time I see them with any capital ship, it gives me that pang of what almost was.
Very nice picture.

Hey Wolfe
Glad you could make it. Got questions about BSG, just ask. People here know more about it than anyplace else you can find
Welcome

No cgi was used in the making of this picture!
The model is wombat's from Resin Illuminati, the planet is Yavin IV and the stars are actual Apogee stars.

Re: "Encounter"
Peter,
Nice Galactica model.
For the graphic, if I can suggest, you might want to try a slight blur on the layers to ease on the matte lines. If you're using photoshop, you could work some magic with the blur tool along the edges of the Earth. Then, by adding a very slight blur on the entire image, I think you'll find it better matches the look we're used to seeing with the models on the screen.
It sounds counter-intuitive to blur the images to make them look better but done right, it really adds to the realism.
All my best,
Sandy

Re: "Encounter"
As per Sandy's suggestion I've added more blur. Gausian blur that is.
I think I may have fallen down on this one as it's the first one where the object is standing still while all my other ones the model is supposed to be in motion so I use motion blur a lot (and it hides a multitude of sins).
I've also been experimenting with exposure in Photoshop as when the various photographers light their models there's a lot of bounce light and maybe they're too bright for recreating the motion control look so you have to beat it in to submission.

Re: "Encounter"
