Default It's official.....

Just recieved word from Zoic Studios on this. Galactica did indeed get a 13 episode committment.

Looks like the Galactica universe just got a bit more intense.

Pssst. Lee seemed fairly nice too.

Congrats on the work. More time to practice for the real show.

I'm not trying to be catty, but I was kind of suprised that we didn't get this tidbit of news from you first..... You were doing really well keeping on top of things for quite a while.

And yes, NOW you can get excited! I'm very happy for you!

Cool

It's a go!!!! Woohoo!!!

*the admiral stops abruptly, realizing that he's bouncing up and down repeatedly on his bridge and in front of his crew. he turns back from the comm console to see many of the bridge crew hiding a grin. thinks to himself many of the bridge crew will be cleaning the head for the duration of the voyage*

*cough* I'm pleased that the new BSG is a go. I also hope that a continuation movie can now be made soon. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to send some of my bridge crew to the head to begin their "cleaning" duties. :P

With Respect,

Don, hope youre not too busy to check in from time to time on Fleets.
Good news for mini fans, hopefully someday we will have good news about a continuation too

Wonder if the thirteen episodes will be remakes of some TOS episodes, or if they are planning to take a new direction? Does anyone know?

mostly new direction, from what RDM's said, Amber.

Koenig the traditional celebration starts with a bunch of these. and any of the dancing emoticons. now go, go crazy.

The Moore statement at SCIFI should give some hope to those that didn't like the mini that a series will be closer to the spirit of TOS than we got thus far. I hope the waiting for the continuation crowd get some of what they want from the series also. I hope this is good news for all of us. I cheered when they made BG1980 also. Sometimes we don't get what we think we got and sometimes we get what we don't expect. Let's all hope for the best...A new series based on the best of TOS updated with modern special effects.

Well, congratulations to everyone involved.

It's good to hear that ZOIC will remain involved -- they're the best at doing this kind of thing right now, IMAO. I hope Lee Stringer will be working on the show along with Don and other good folks.

Anything to do with BG and I'm in....i loved the original series when i was a kid and I loved the new miniseries, allthough it took the first part of the mini series to get used Starbuck being a woman seeing as I was used to the charactor being a man. I loved the special effects.
Where are they filming the new series? I've seen vancouver mentioned in this thread....and that happens to be where I live!

Has Aaron checked in at this temporary site yet? I sure hope we haven't lost him as an active poster.

I'm sure he will be DJ, with the new BSG going to series. It's good to see you here, btw. =)

Thanks everyone for your support and kind words. I don't exactly know how much i'll be involved but if RDM is truely serious about getting back to the roots of the old show that boads well. At least i'll have a chance to create more of the "old" BSG world that we all want. We'll see. And yes Jewels it's more practice.

Kingfish, i hear ya man. It's tough but i see it this way. Zoic's involvement in this is key. There are a ton of original Galactica fans working on this and at least we can pay homage to the original by giving the older fans some of the original concepts. Unless Ron goes of the deep end and changes things which is totally possible.

On the continuation front with a movie, we still have work to do folks. Do not forget the TOS.

Don

I don't think any of us will forget the old series, but at least this gets BATTLESTAR GALACTICA more in the forefront of people's minds.

Congratulations.
