Default This left me speechless

This is a link to an amazing pictorial tour taken by a Russian motorcycle enthusiast of Chernobyl. You have to see it, I can't find the words to describe it. There is no virus, no pop-ups, it isn't trying to sell anything, there are no pictures of deformed creatures or decaying bodies. It is just....incredible.

That's eerie and chilling.

This was incredible!

I was really impressed by this. That woman must be half insane though. Radiation is mostly gone, but its probably easily disturbed and brought up again. But then again, maybe not.

btw- She's a pretty lady. But what's even more impressive is that before she started riding through Cherbynoble she use to be a MAN!

Ohboy... bad joke. BAD admin. Just walk away Tom.

Kinda makes all the arguing over TOS vs Mini seem kinda pointless, don't it?

I was up until midnight last night reading all of the notes and looking at all of the pictures.... Haunting to say the very least. That girl is a lot braver than I am - I don't know if I would have gone on a ride like that, but I never have been the adventuresome type.

I remember reading a novel (part fiction/part fact) about the Chernobyl incident - it was fascinating to read, but very scary and sad as well. I never forgot some parts of the book as they were so vivid on the page. It blew me away that even in the late 20th century that people that worked around radioactive material every day took so many chances with it. I wasn't sure if the men that fought that fire were either very brave, or very ignorant of the danger they were in.

I'll never forget those pics I saw last night...

WOW! Speechless is a very good word to describe my feelings about this. No other words could do this justice.

This makes alot of people stop and truly think how petty our little problems are compared to the aftermath seen there!

SS -

I'm sure those cars were abandoned... The people in the area were bussed out en masse. They weren't allowed to take anything with them due to the contamination factor. Most of the people that died either worked at the power plant or fought the fire after the explosion. The rest that died, died of long-term exposure.
