Count Iblis' ship?

Date: 03/04/2003
From: bishop37

We all know the Ship of Lights or Lightship from War of the Gods, crewed by the angels/Guardians of the Universe.

But can you imagine Count Iblis' ship, the Darkship!

Imagine it as seen from above it'd be a pentacle with spikes coming from where the points of the star touch the rim.

At the centre of the circle would be a a sphere bisected by the circle and at both poles of the sphere gothic spires with windows like inverted crosses. The whole thing would glow a devlish neon red as it swooped through space.

Of course, Stu Phillips would have to compose its own signature cue!

Just some thoughts,

Peter

Also, back in 1999 there were a few people who wanted radical changes to the Galactica before Mike McAdams & Ken came along and I would like to know if anyone would also like to try doing this streamlined Galactica.

Regarding the trailer as a whole, and the 3d models and designs, a lot of the original design's appearances in the trailer are due to our holding out for them. There were a few people who wanted radical changes to the Galactica and Vipers/ Raiders before we came along and brought our stuff to the table. Richard was fortunate to get Mike McAdams and his Battlestar model, especially. Before that, there was only one clip using an actual photo of the original Galactica model as a 2d element as part of the fleet. (That shot is the only Galactica in the trailer that isn't Mike's 3d version.) The other potential cg Battlestar was completely different, all streamlined, and more like ST:TNG's Enterprise in style, even though it had the same overall configuration as the original Galactica. It was an interesting model, but it was overly simplistic compared to the original design, and it would have been revisionist design, which wouldn't have worked. However, it could've been a design built later as a new ship built from the ground up with new technology, and I would've had no objection to it. But it would've been like saying Picard's Enterprise was an upgrade from Kirk's original and saying it was the same ship. Richard might have had no choice but to go with it for lack of any other model to use if Mike's hadn't been available. I can tell you, RH was very happy to use the original designs with the new ones, because that fit with his theme of blending the old with the new to bridge the generations. Having the right 3d models just made it possible!

I agree that the Firehouse Galactica would be better as a new battlestar, with a few changes. I did not care for the new basestar they did, but really loved the new shuttle. If I knew that there site was going to go offline I would have down loaded all of there images and files.
