For me, personally, it's a matter of pride, knowing that the ships in my animation projects were built by me.
I could use other artists', and credit them, and I'm certainly not above it (or below it for that matter...ha ha ha) but I rather like being able to look at the playbacks and say: "Damn, I built that?!" LOL!
