Okay in VLC do this to hopefully get rid of the choppy behavior.
If it gets stuck in VLC player just go to Tools/ Preferences/Input codecs/Codecsmuxers and turn on "Use System codecs" and
where it says Skip Loop filterfor H.64 decoding select ALL in the drop down box.

Now a go with some lazers blazin' !
