The Return of Starbuck: Revisited

New report from ColonialFleets.com owner Titon: "Hello all. For the last few days I've been playing with the 'Goodtimes' video release of the Return of Starbuck. It isn't exactly the best quality but good enough to see the only episode from Galactica 1980 that a person could stomach. My first intention was to basically capture the video and clean it up the best I could, then burn it to DVD for archiving. Well let's just say the initial transfer was less than stellar. So instead I made a small QuickTime avi of a 'revamped opening' if you will. It's nothing stellar, I just filled in a few holes and basically played around with an idea. It's far from complete but it's a beginning. With that here's the zipped QuickTime file. It's about 4 minutes 22 seconds long. 320x240 format. The file itself is a little over 7 MB. In order to at least keep some quality in it I had to keep the file size up a bit. So if your interested in seeing something different, take a look. If not, oh well. Again, nothing spectacular and I only played with it for a few hours. Not looking to corner the market on video editing. Just playing around. Have fun. Download at your own risk."

UK Battlestar Galactica DVD Release Date Delayed

Ian Cullen of SciFiPulse.net posted a new report at Colonial Fleets: "Am sorry to be the bearer of bad news to fans in the UK. But I checked in with both Amazon.co.uk and Play.com and have found out that the UK release of the Battlestar Galactica DVD Box Set has been changed. As opposed to it coming out in November like it was originally meant to be, it has been put back to January 12, 2004."

Sound & Vision Battlestar Galactica DVD Ad

New report from Muffit at Colonial Fleets: "Wow, just got my new copy of Sound & Vision (a popular audio/video enthusiast magazine) and guess what I saw? A full page, full color ad for Battlestar Galactica The Original Epic Series DVD Box Set! Excellent Uni [Universal]! With a large readership of willing DVD buyers either looking for or upgrading their home theatre systems (and continually on the hunt for good DVDs to show them off), that's some well placed advertising. Interestingly, 98% of the ad is for the DVDs, with a little corner advertising the mini. Sounds like somebody at Uni is in tune with what the likely money-winner will be. I wonder, will there be more people to pay $80+ for the original than will tune in to the mini for free? Certainly, by the look of how the ad real estate is laid out, somebody at Uni thinks so. Yes, there are tons of us who remember and will gladly pay to see it again! Thank you Uni for acknowledging the fandom of this beloved show. We have more $'s for ya! Any takers for a big screen continuation?" Thanks to Muffit for the report!
