Oddly enough, according to
http://www.shipschematics.net, this fighter is (in fact) listed a the "Scorpion" instead of "Viper".

I guess it is (indeed) a confusion in names; as most people (automatically) call most fighters from BSG "Vipers".
Regardless of what it is called, it is still a good looking plane (and one that I am eagerly looking forward to building out of paper).
