I think you will find that the Toba bottleneck hypothesis is an interesting counter to the Atlantis nonsense previously noted in earlier posts. It may be an actual percursor event for our Babel myths.

I've enjoyed the articles on these links. Good finds. I haven’t read through the entirety of Dr. Santos’ site in over a year, and only skimmed it when you posted your links. I do find the site to be somewhat simplistic and sensationalistic, rather than technical. I am also not overly enamored with his conclusions.

For all of that, I am not sure how either of the articles you linked to counter his hypothesis, either on the whole or in part. Indeed, they seem to add support to the foundation of some of his arguments.

I would be interested in hearing your reasoning.
