First Three Questions Answered in Ask David Eick

The Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica web site now features the first three questions for mini-series producer David Eick. The three questions are some of the most important and frequently asked. The three questions are: 1) "Why did you decide to 'reimagine' Battlestar Galactica rather than continue where the original series left off?" 2) "Was there anything in particular you felt was a problem with the old show that you specifically wanted to change with this new version?" 3) "Why did you choose to make Starbuck a woman, rather than just adding new female characters?" Although not good for the classic Battlestar Galactica fans, and unacceptable to many, the format of the three questions and answers are certainly a public relations move by the Sci-Fi Channel. For the latest P.R. check out the following link at the Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica web site.

An Unbiased Format Poll

An important new poll was recently posted by TwoBrainedCylon, and fans are encouraged to vote as soon as possible. Here is the announcement from Two-Brain: "At Summoner's request, I've added a poll and will try to make sure the results, whatever they are, end up in the decision maker's hands. This poll will be totally impartial (despite any preferences I have). With the results, I will forward information regarding what steps I took to screen out ballot stuffing and what vulnerabilities the data may have as well. I will share the data and screening methods with two RDM supporters and two Continuation supporters. If you think you're a valid candidate, e-mail me. Sorry to do this all again. The poll is the first thing at the top of the page. I encourage everyone interested in the future of BSG to voice their opinion." To participate in the poll and help make a difference, visit the following link at the brand-new Cylon Alliance EzBoard.

A Gift from the fans to Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz

Rachel Wright is compiling a brand-new fan appreciation book for Dirk "Starbuck" Benedict, and Star Trek: TNG's Dwight Schultz. Both actors also starred in The A-Team, produced by Battlestar Galactica creator Glen A. Larson. Here is the announcement from Rachel: "Hello Everyone, It's Rachel Wright here, and I would like to enlist everybody's help to put together two books / folders / binders as special gifts for Dwight Shultz and Dirk Benedict from their fans out here. (i.e. One each, for each of the celebrities). Once this is done, and I know that it may take time, I would like to present them to Dwight and Dirk, simply to express to them how much we appreciate them and all that they have done, and are continuing to do, (in their careers), which we find so inspirational about them." Be sure to visit the following link at the Dirk Benedict Discussion Group to post your comments for both Dirk and Dwight!

Write Edward James Olmos!

Battlestar Galactica fan and revival activist JJRAKMAN posted a new request at the Battlestar Galactica Club Forums: "On his official web site he reports having signed to star in the new BSG production. I'm suspecting that with the 'back door' way in which TPTB work, he may be unaware of the general feelings of the existing fan base. Maybe we should clue him in. Also maybe let him know that it's not personal, that we wouldn't mind if he played a member of the council of twelve or something, but that the existing production as it stands is unacceptable. Maybe even place his name on the boycott list, to boycott any production he is associated with should he go through with Moore-Ron's vision, or lack there of. Point him to the bulletin boards, to the petitions, to the boycott site. Let him know of the general anger over this production. Mr. Olmos' address: Olmos Productions, 500 S. Buena Vista St., Old Animation Bldg. 1G2, MC 1803, Burbank, CA 91521." Be sure to visit the web site of Edward James Olmos where you can write and make a difference.
