Prequel Video Game Information posted at Galactica2003.net

Information on the new Battlestar Galactica prequel video game coming September 23, 2003 has just been posted at Galactica2003.net. Along with 66 screen shots and the opening narration of the video game, the site reports: "The exclusive video clips were created by Hitoshi Kudo of the Galactica 2003 staff. The original master clip ran 2 minutes 26 seconds with a frame rate of 29.97fs with Stereo Sound. In order to reduce the size, the sound has been removed and the frame rate has been reduced to 15fs. Also, the open narration scene has been cut out leaving us the action scenes of the clip. Enjoy." For more information about the XBOX/PS2 console video game (reported to be a prequel to both Glen A. Larson's original series and Ron D. Moore's new mini-series) check out the following link at Galactica2003.net.

Battlestar Galactica Fan Poll

A brand-new poll was announced by Warrior, co-admin of ColonialFleets.com: "Ok folks... just for informational purposes, I want to see, across the web, just what people are fans of in regards to Battlestar Galactica. I ask owners/Admins of other forum places (and I mean ALL of them) to run this poll on their sites too. Either link to this thread or copy and paste to your own forums. I am going to run this poll on a NEUTRAL polling site. Below are the definitions of what I think the various fan groups are. Vote as to which one you belong: 1. Original Battlestar Galactica CONCEPT fan. Likes all the concept ideas from the show. Doesn't matter who is playing in the lead roles. As long as the concepts are all there in the proper format. Doesn't care who produces/writes. 2. Original Battlestar Galactica ACTORS fan. Like the show for its concepts but MUST have the original actors intact in their proper roles. Doesn't care who produces/writes. 3. Re-written/re-make fan. Wants all new concepts and actors. Doesn't care for anything the original represented. Doesn't care who produces/writes. 4. Writer/Producer Fan (Moore). Likes what Ron Moore has written before, and will trust in anything he writes for BSG. 5. Writer/Producer Fan (DeSantos). Likes what Tom DeSantos has worked on before, and likes the ideas brought forth for a BSG Continuation. 6. Writer/Producer Fan (Larson). Likes what the creator of BSG brought forth in the BSG mythos, TOS, BSG-80 and an idea for a movie. 7. Writer/Producer Fan (Hatch). Likes the ideas Hatch brought forth with The Second Coming and follows Hatch due to his ideas for BSG and for his novels." To participate in the poll, be sure to visit the following link at SparkLit.com, and help spread the word!

The X2 Ticket-A-Thon 2003

A new web site has launched in support of Tom DeSanto's continuation of Battlestar Galactica! The web site announces: "IN 2001, Tom DeSanto and Bryan Singer embarked on a monumental task, to return the Classic Science Fiction Television Series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. Their efforts were endorsed by many of the thousands of Fans of the Original Series, as well a members of the Original Cast and Crew. However, just weeks before shooting was to begin at the Studios in Canada, Bonnie Hammer, President of the SciFi Channel stopped Production, and handed the reins over to Former Star Trek Writer Ronald D. Moore. Their intention was to 're-imagine' Galactica into a cheaper, slicker, and sexier version, by recasting and changing much of what the Fans of Galactica had loved about the show. Tom DeSanto, a long time fan of Galactica was pushed out, in favor of a Star Trek-ized version of Galactica that bears little resemblance to the show Fans know and love. We want Universal Studios and Bonnie Hammer to know that not only do we support Tom DeSanto, but that we also support the faithful return of Battlestar Galactica that Tom DeSanto was going to deliver." For the complete information and how to participate, be sure to visit the new X2 Ticket-A-Thon 2003 web site!

Beginning Narration of the Prequel Video Game

Scifiman76 of Galactica2003.net has just posted the opening narration of the prequel video game: "There are those who believe in something they call free will, and there are others that believe in destiny. Legend tells how our ancestors arrived on the planet Kobol in twelve great space arks, carrying their fragile human cargo of human lives and hopes across the black deserts of the vast and hostile Universe, to build a heaven for them selves, there among the stars. The clever machines they built to serve them grew tired of their chains. They turned on human kind, murdering millions in a single night of blood and death. The great Colonial heroes of old fought back, forcing the machines into space. Exiling their twisted creations to the stars. Ten years ago, the skies over Caprica turned black once more with Cylon Raiders. They had returned... [Introduction of the theme music] For ten years, the Colonial survivors fought a vicious running war with the all-conquering machine empire of the Cylons. Ten years of rations. Ten years of genocide and loss. Ten years of fear. It is the end of the sixth millennium, in the era of the Cylon Wars. This is a time of the great Battlestars Columbia, Rycon, Atlantia, Pegasus, and Galactica..." Spoiler Info Inaccurate?

Atlantiaviper posted a note at the Sci-Fi Channel BBoard that disputes some of the spoilers reported in the new mini-series. Specifically, Atlantiaviper disputes: "5. The Cylons are a machine empire that dominates a large region of space. NO. There are no references anywhere in the script to a Cylon empire of any form. 6. The Cylon Religion is based on the belief of destiny. NO. The basis of the Cylon religion is not discussed."
