Digital Photography Contest at Cylon.org with a Prize!

Cylon.org has just announced a new contest: "What is this thing? This isn't merely some crappy contest where you win nothing more than a compliment. This is a crappy contest in which you can win a compliment and DVD set of the original Battlestar Galactica series or $50. We request a small contest fee ($5.00 minimum to Cylon@Cylon.org through PAYPAL) OR a $10.00 donation to the CFF (starting May 14th). Once I have recovered enough contest fees to cover the prizes, any other entrance fees will also go to the CFF. The fee is VOLUNTARY. If you can afford it, please donate as I could use the help with the prize money and the CFF can use the help reaching their goal. Even if you can't donate, you're still welcome to join the contest whether you're a member here or not. If the contest is popular enough, I'll rally up more and better prizes. The CFF has $3000 more to earn. Why not join this contest to help make that happen? Concurrently, the images in the contest will be displayed on Cylon.org in a special gallery. Show off your skill, your good eye, and your creativity. What are the categories? There will be two categories: 'Real Life' and 'Faked, False, and Fabricated'. Real Life are pictures shown as taken, without alterations, retouching, or other manipulation except lighting, contrast, and color control. FFF images begin with a picture taken with a digital camera that are then altered through retouching, combination with other images, integration with CG, stylized with artistic effects, or anything else that strikes your fancy. Any images that insult specific personalities or make religious or political statements will be excluded. Any images determined to be in extremely poor taste will also be excluded. The contest begins May 14th and ends 28 June 2004. The winners will be announced on 4 July 2004 at which time there will be a huge celebration all across the United States."

Battlestar Galactica: The Cylon Wars RPG

Battlestar Galactica Club member ColonelTigh has just started a brand-new message board RPG, entitled: "Battlestar Galactica: The Cylon Wars". ColonelTigh reports: "It is 20 years before the destruction of the 12 colonies of man, Commander Bartlet, the newly appointed Commanding Officer of the Battlestar Columbia has taken command of the 3rd fleet. Their mission: To fight back the Cylon invasion, and put an end to almost 1000 years of war. Battlestar Galactica: The Cylon Wars is all about role-playing. When simming in BSG:CY, the roleplayers are not only playing a character inside their universe; but also they are investing a part of themselves into what they would dream to be if they were living in that universe." Viper Cockpit: Detailed Paint Images of Viper Controls

Battlestar Galactica fan justjackrandom has posted three detailed images of the Viper cockpit control panels. justjackrandom reports: "I am no artist, but I wanted layouts of the viper so that when I build my cockpit mock-up, I had relatively detailed plans. I started with scans of the shuttle control panels that were in the original blueprints. That is why some of the lines and things still look fuzzy. I liked the look, so I kept it. I then modified the controls from there. A number of the controls are speculation, as we never saw all of the panels, and even what we did see wasn't always clear. This represents a non-C.O.R.A. ship." For the three paint images, be sure to check out the following link at the Battlestar Galactica Club Forums.
