I would like to speak out on the blatant use of Violets in today's poetry.
Our children are exposed to enough things in life that threaten their very innocence without the necessity now for excessive Violets in poetry.
What's more is the graphic Violets that sometimes accompanies such poetry! Bad enough that our children are forced to use their innocent imaginations to contemplate the mere presence of Violets...but now, some poetry is accompanied by illustrations of Violets, thus removing the imagination factor from its rhyme and meter, and further thus desensitizing our children to the notion of Violets in ANY FORM!
As a concerned non-parent of no children at all, I beg and implore you to please monitor what your children read. Violets is not the answer. Roses are.
Hiya, Muffit, dearest friend. I hope this gave you a good hearty laugh.
Most Irreverently, but with affection,
