Supporting Richard Hatch

Colonial Fleets administrator thomas7g posted a very well-written tribute in support of Richard "Apollo" Hatch: "I just wanted to say how much sense it makes for a Battlestar Galactica Forum to support those who brought the original show to life. That includes Richard Hatch who has been the main force behind the revival effort (before the French corporation Vivendi-Universal stole it and shipped it off to Canada). He has given a lot to our lives by being Apollo. And lighting the revival fires at great personal cost. He has spent much of his life, his money, and his time to give us a revival. And we do REALLY appreciate that. Also, when it comes down to it... even a great show like Battlestar Galactica is still just a show. And Richard Hatch is a man who has brought much enjoyment into my childhood living room. Some people may not like his choice of guests at Galacticon, I don't blame you, I see your point. But... Richard Hatch is still 'the Man'." Thanks to thomas7g for posting the tribute at Colonial Fleets.

Clones, Clones, Go Away (Ron D. Moore)

Writer/Producer Ron D. Moore of the new mini-series just posted a note at the Cylon Alliance Forums. Ron D. Moore stated: "It's come to my attention that there is a group (or a person) out there cloning handles, faking support for me and the miniseries, attacking other fans, and generally being a pain in the [astrum] for people. Please stop. Actually, knock it the [frak] off. You're doing me no favors by stoking the flames of anger and animosity which already exist among elements of the fan base even higher. It's also just not cool and you should find something better to do with your time. Ronald D. Moore." The complete announcement from Ron D. Moore is available at the following link at Cylon.org. For the announcement here in the Colonial Newsletter, the two expletives have been replaced with the appropriate Colonial terminology.
