Hi Muffit!
My plant catalogues often call purpley things "blue". I think some horticulturist way back when didn't learn their color names in pre-school (witness words like "periwinkle, magenta and chartruse" in a Blue's Clues video on colors today
). They didn't know that blue, violet, and purple were actually different colors. So we are cursed with wacky color names for some flowers.
