Don Bergren and David Kerin Comment on Zoic Studios

Two prominent Battlestar Galactica fan CGI artists have commented on the recent report that Zoic Studios will be doing the Visual Effects for the new Battlestar Galactica mini-series. Don Bergren commented at Colonial Fleets: "Hello all. It's been a long road but the future is right around the corner. I have been allowed to express that Zoic Studios has indeed been awarded the FX contract for the upcoming Battlestar Galactica. For the first time here I am openly stating that Galactica is coming back! I've waited many years for this moment and now the time is at hand. Lee Stringer, who works with Zoic, will be heading this FX team. There could not be a better man for the job. Stay tuned to this interfleet broadcasting channel for all updates. Long Live the true Battlestar Galactica!". David Kerin commented at the Sci-Fi Channel BBoard: "With the special effects now in their hands I can at least rest assured that the production will be visually exciting, even stunning, while remaining faithful to the designs we know and love. The first true sign to me that the powers that be are starting to make some proper decisions and I fully support this. For the first time in almost a year something has me excited about this project. Now if it will only be taken in a direction that will not erase the original I'll be even happier and more supportive. Off to a good start... let's keep it going." This is very good news from Don and David regarding the special effects for the new mini-series. The Zoic Studios web site can be viewed at ZoicStudios.com.

Kelly Hu Not To Be Cast As Sharon "Boomer" Valerii

Battlestar Galactica mini-series insider Atlantiaviper retracted his recent statement that Kelly Hu was cast as Sharon "Boomer" Valerii in the new mini-series. "I made a mistake. Kelly Hu has NOT been cast as Sharon Valerii. I completely misunderstood the information my source passed along to me.
