Default Colonial Fan Force Tops $2,000

Colonial Fan Force Fund Surpasses $2,000 Mark
Campaign For Big-Screen Battlestar Galactica Continuation On-Track For Success

(VESUVIUS, VA; SPONDON, DERBY, UK) The Colonial Fan Force has surpassed another milestone in its efforts to send a message of support to Battlestar Galactica creator Glen Larson and X-Men producer Tom DeSanto. Fan Force Spokesman Bill Gordon reported today that the CFF's fundraising efforts have exceeded the $2,000.00 mark.

"All of us at CFF are thrilled with the pace at which donations are coming in from the fans," said Gordon. "Of course, we'd love to be a little further ahead, but we've given ourselves plenty of time, and I have absolutely no doubt that the fans of this show will come through just as the fans of Angel did for the show they love. Battlestar Galactica fans have been screaming to Hollywood for years that our numbers are larger then we've ever been given credit for… and this is our chance to prove it."

The Colonial Fan Force has picked up some significant endorsements since it launched its campaign 19-days ago. So far, the group's efforts have earned the endorsements of original series stars Richard Hatch (Apollo), Dirk Benedict (Starbuck), Jack Stauffer (Bojay), and Jane Seymour (Serina), as well as the endorsements of Stu Phillips, who composed the score of the original Battlestar Galactica, and Ronald D. Moore, producer of the SciFi Channel’s re-imagined Battlestar Galactica miniseries and upcoming television series. "The fact that we're receiving endorsements… and donations… from both Galactica camps should underscore to Hollywood just how lucrative a motion picture continuing the saga of the original Battlestar Galactica would be." Gordon says the CFF is expecting more celebrity endorsements in the weeks to come.

The goal of the Colonial Fan Force is to raise $10,000 for the purchase of full-page ads in the 17 September 2004 issue of Daily Variety, and the September issue of Cinescape magazine. The ads are intended to send a message of support to Larson (who holds the movie rights to the Battlestar Galactica franchise) and DeSanto, whose efforts to create a television continuation of the original Galactica were unfortunately derailed.
