The Starfury does seem to be one of the few starfighters to act like a space combat fighter. In Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and even the new BSG, the starfighters act like normal jet fighters but with WWII style dogfights.
That is what is odd about compairing B5 to other sci-fi shows. While the Earth Alliance Omega Class desroyer would be easy meat for a Star Destroyer, Battlestar or Basestar(even Kirk's Enterprise would give it a kicking) the Starfury looks like it could take any starfighter those shows could throw at it.
One thing I've always found strange about the Starfury is that the Pilot appears to fly the thing standing up!
That must be wierd for the pilot.
