That was indeed quite interesting to see! Of course, using a CAD program seems to have simplified the process somewhat. I wonder how it was done - say back in 1979 when Andrew Probert did his cutaway poster of the redesigned U.S.S Enterprise when Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released?

There weren't any blueprints - least of all, deck-by-deck, nor a CAD program to help out with the perspective and vectoring. I always marveled at that poster of the Enterprise - for the first time, I was able to look at the whole ship, inside and out, with all the details.

It would be incredible if an artist decided to do a cutaway poster of our beloved Battlestar Galactica, where you could see all of the decks and in color to boot!
