Stargate SG-1 - Date, Price for Ark of Truth DVD to Finish the 'Ori' Plotline

This past summer saw the release of the tenth and final season of Stargate SG-1, and an enclosed insert advertised that 2008 release of the first post-series project, a direct-to-DVD release called Stargate SG-1 - The Ark of Truth. This new feature, that concludes the storyline that was left hanging when the program ended, was previewed among the extras exclusive to Stargate SG-1 - The Complete Series (along with that of another planned direct-to-DVD feature called Continuum).

This morning our friends in the home video retail world got an update from MGM and distributor Fox Home Entertainment. The were officially informed that Stargate SG-1 - The Ark of Truth will arrive on DVD this March 11th. Cost is $26.98 SRP in the USA, and CA$37.98 SRP in Canada. The 97-minute long production will be in widescreen, with English Dolby 5.1 audio, French and Spanish Dolby Surround audio, and subtitles in English and Spanish. Extras were not mentioned yet, but we do expect some to be present. Stay tuned for further word about that, and for box art, just as soon as we can!

Stargate SG-1 - Extras Revealed For Ark of Truth Direct-to-DVD Feature!

Last week our friends in the home video retail industry gave us the info http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Stargat...-Of-Truth/8555 that the upcoming Direct-to-DVD release of Stargate SG-1 - The Ark of Truth is officially confirmed for a March 11th release date, and other info besides. This morning our same friends (thank you, as always!) told us that MGM and distributor Fox Home Entertainment has now revealed an extra that will be included on this DVD.

"Stargate SG-1: The Road Taken: Prelude to The Ark of Truth" is a featurette which reportedly will examine the ending of the 10-season-long series and the decision to wrap up the ongoing Ori storyline, among other plot threads, in this made-for-DVD feature. There MAY additionally be a look in this at the second Direct-to-DVD production, Continuum, planned for release later in 2008, but that's not confirmed yet.

That's all the info they had about it so far, and they don't have cover art yet, either. But stay tuned, and we'll bring that to you just as soon as we can!
